GVI is dedicated to addressing the social and civil challenges faced by impoverished and at-risk children in Vietnam, particularly those living in orphanages and other care facilities. Many of these children come from backgrounds of extreme poverty, with limited access to basic needs such as food, education, and emotional support. To help bridge these gaps, GVI partners with orphanages like The Birla Village and the Social Sponsored Center 3 (SS3) to provide essential resources and support. For instance, GVI sponsors annual summer camps for orphans, where volunteers engage in relationship-building activities that help boost the children’s self-esteem and confidence.
In addition to these relational efforts, GVI also works on improving the physical infrastructure of orphanages, providing healthcare support, and meeting the nutritional needs of the children. By collaborating with local officials and leveraging the expertise of volunteers, GVI ensures that these vulnerable children receive the care and attention they need to thrive. Furthermore, GVI has initated many impactful programs in partnership with the National Pediatric Hospital and Hanoi National University of Education, such as the Child Abuse Prevention program, the Marriage and Family Counseling program, and the annual Social Work training program. These initiatives provide training for professionals and educators on how to identify, investigate, and address cases of child abuse, contributing to a safer and more supportive environment for children in Vietnam.
