The cultural exchange that takes place through GVI partnerships brings transformation both to those in the nations we visit, and to those visiting from the U.S. In our Communications Domain, we have been able to witness the fusion between Eastern and Western music as a vibrant dialogue, where traditional melodies meet modern rhythms, creating a unique and captivating symphony that transcends all cultural boundaries.
Our first Music & Art trip in 2024 included mutual learning and musical performances at Reigate Grammar school, connections and plans for future collaborations with the Music Talent Program students and artists, a stunning studio tour hosted by renowned artist Minh Son, and a Masterclass for the students at the Vietnam National Academy of Music conservatory by the very talented Lewis Warren of Northwood Church. In his reflections from the trip, Lewis wrote, “Thank you also for the friendship concert(s) where we not only performed, but were exposed to traditional Vietnamese music, heard a blind and deaf boy play a Chopin nocturne, and met the composer Nguyen Thuy Loan who’s piano works are celebrated across the country. I sincerely look forward to our future collaborations!”
GVI anticipates many more opportunities to collaborate and learn together with the artists and musicians of Vietnam. Trips for 2025 are now open for those interested in partnering in transformation through music and art!
