Dr. Xay is one of the many individuals in Vietnam who has been greatly impacted by the work of GVI, and has leveraged that support to greatly impact her own community. Growing up as the only child in her family, Dr. Xay always dreamed of one day becoming a doctor to take care of the health of her family and community. Now she is the only pediatric doctor both at General Bac Ha Hospital and for the whole Bac Ha province! In addition to her work at the hospital, Dr. Xay has a private clinic in Bac Ha where she shares her knowledge about new treatments and public health measures to improve awareness and protect the health of the whole community. 

Dr. Xay met the GVI team in 2019 during our partnership with the National Pediatric Hospital. She was inspired by working with the doctors and nurses from the U.S, noting their professional attitudes, passion for sharing their knowledge, and their heart for the community. 

Advancing Education, Changing Lives

Because of donations from the GVI doctor team, Dr. Xay was elated to accept an opportunity to go to Hanoi to attend training courses and strengthen her skills to better serve her community. Dr. Xay is able to continue growing her knowledge and using that knowledge to better the lives of children in her community due to the support of GVI. Her passion for the work is evident as she shared with our GVI team:
