Partnering for Transformation – What does it mean to be a GVI partner?
GVI partners with organizations who desire to use their skills and resources to help transform communities in Vietnam. Our partners identify the strengths and talents of their volunteers then mobilize them to serve, carrying out a wide variety of community projects throughout Vietnam. Current GVI partners include:

Focus: The AND Initiative is Alamo Community Church’s purposeful effort to love God AND love our neighbors. To that end, we are committed to partnering with organizations like GVI to make a difference in San Antonio and around the world. Since 2012, our Vietnam AND Initiative has been focused on the children and families of the Thai Giang Pho School in Bac Ha, Vietnam.

Focus: Area 10 partners with GVI to serve the SS3 orphanage in Hanoi by developing relationships with the children and staff. Each year the team visits the children and facilitates activities, crafts, a carnival, and a trip to the beach. Throughout the year the team maintains contact with the orphanage through correspondence and gifts. Area 10 has also funded a pig program used as a sustainable nutrition program for the orphanage.

Forefront Christian Church

Focus: Forefront has been engaging the village of Ta Phin in the Lao Cai Province of Vietnam since 2007. We provide assistance in the form of education conferences, infrastructure improvements, water projects, and school lunch programs. We desire to continue to establish new relationships and deepen existing relationships! We love serving the people of Ta Phin!
Island Evangelical Community Church (ECC)

Focus: Island ECC focuses on Thai Giang Pho Middle School, in the Bac Ha district of Lao Cai. We sponsor infrastructural projects and build relationships with teachers and students through games and activities.

Focus: Norfolk Christian Upper School partners with GVI to serve dually at the SS3 orphanage and also in the Sa Pa community. A team visits SS3 annually to build relationships with the children and staff and enjoy some time out of the orphanage at Dam Long park. We also do community outreach in Sa Pa by doing any manner of work projects or hosting sports camps for the children. Norfolk Christian Schools is also partnering with GVI in the teacher exchange program to help build relationships and join efforts with the teachers at Ban Mai school in Hanoi.

Focus: NorthWood members have been serving communities in north Vietnam since 1996, using their vocational skills, gifts and passions to meet needs and impact lives. Annually, NorthWood sends an average of 10 teams to Vietnam, impacting multiple areas throughout the region. In Hanoi we work with orphanages, universities, hospitals, artists, and the business community. We have also adopted villages in the mountains of Lao Cai Province, where we have an impact in the areas of health, hygiene, education, construction, agriculture, and economics. Glocal Ventures (GVI) was formed by NorthWood Church in 2002.

Focus: Southeast Asia Healthcare volunteers work to improve the quality of care for the elderly, largely through hands on training of personnel. Other activities have included delivering or providing clothing, medical supplies, toys and clothes for orphans, pigs and chickens for improved nutrition and more. We have been a GVI Partner since 2008.
