Alamo Community Service Trip February 2012February 15, 2012
Started the assessment trip to Bac Ha with a little of worry and confusion about new country with its particular culture, Alamo community team had been experienced a special time of working and building relationship with teachers and students at Thai Giang Pho Primary School and the people of the commune which made them said” We definitely come back soon”.
195 students and 41 teachers were so happy to work together with the team to pave 320 m2 of school yard that could help to prevent lots of accidents were due to mud and sliding. The students were even happier when they were provided extra instruments for sport and activities so they could play on the new and clean school yard. They were also excited to have 2 RO water filters, 1 big inox container for holding water and 10 tanks to contain clean water.
After hearing the needs from the school and the commune leaders and seeing all the works that GVI has been doing in Bac Ha, the team had made their plan to come back as soon as they could to continue to build the relationship stronger and to see those smiling faces again.
