This week, we want to introduce you to Kathy Hindman, a dedicated donor to our buffalo program. Thank you Kathy for your support and love for our farmers!
Why are you passionate about serving those in Vietnam?
“We love the Vietnamese people! My husband and I have had the privilege of hosting several exchange students (11 so far!) from Vietnam who have all become part of our family. We have thoroughly enjoyed sharing our lives with our Vietnamese daughters and teaching them about our culture. When the opportunity came several years ago to go on community development trip to northern Vietnam and experience their culture firsthand, God set my heart on fire even more for these beautiful people.”
Why have you donated to the water buffalo program?
“We love the simplicity of this program, the very practical way we can help a family, and that the receiving family makes an investment in the buffalo as well. Having a water buffalo working alongside the farmer accelerates their production and makes the difference between only producing enough food for their family’s needs, and the opportunity to produce enough rice, corn, and other crops to sell. I liken it to having a tractor here in the U.S.- it’s a real difference maker. We donated our first water buffalo as a family gift at Christmas and it made an impact on all of us. The second year my team at work donated funds towards a water buffalo and water filters. It’s a great way to bless others, provide some much needed support, and let them know that we care about them.”
Why should others support this program?
“This is a great way to meet a practical need and one that will reap benefits for the family for many years to come! You can join with friends, co-workers, and family members to make an impact on a family in a remote village in Vietnam. And, you don’t have to wait until you can afford a whole buffalo! If you can only donate towards a hoof, horn, or hind, your money will be combined with others and before you know it, a whole buffalo will be funded. Don’t delay, support this great program today!”
